Optimization and semi‐automatic evaluation of a frosting process for a soda lime silicate glass based on phosphoric acid

Chemical glass frosting processes are widely used to create visual attractive surfaces. A commonly bath mainly contains ammonium bifluoride (NH4HF2) mixed with hydrochloric acid (HCl). The process consists of several baths. Firstly, the preliminary clean object. Secondly, which etches rough light scattering structure into surface. In present contribution, phosphoric (H3PO4) was as a substitute for HCl reduce amount (NH4+) chloride (Cl−) dissolved in waste water. combination magnesium carbonate (MgCO3), it allows precipitation within sewage phosphate (MgNH4PO4). However, trivial replacement by H3PO4 causes extensive errors, such inhomogeneous size distributions structures or domains that not fully covered these structures. By modifying composition, possible improve result considerably. To determine optimal composition bath, semi-automatic evaluation method has been developed. renders objective comparison resulting surface quality possible.
